Kurzeme Lutheran Church
Built in 1704-1705 in the former Renda parish of the district of Kuldīga near Usmas Lake as a branch of the Renda Lutheran parish. Re-erected in the museum in 1935.
On Sunday divine service and ceremonies such as christening, confirmation and marriage took place in the church. Corvée and impost, as well as fines for disobedience were also announced in the church.
The interior of the church consists of six areas – nave, three vestries for clergymen and the participants of the ceremonies, anteroom, and an open porch, which serves as a bell tower. The interior design, wooden ornamentation and plafond are the specimens of the 18th century art - they represent the peasant baroque style.
The building continues to serve its primary function at the museum 300 years after it was built. At present the church is operated by the Lutheran congregation of Bergi.
