St Kilda
The St Kilda museum has been created to give vistors a history of St Kilda, its stories, population and lifestyle of the islanders. Visitors have the chance in a virtual environment to visit the reconstructed island as well as view what it was like from the 18th century in the virtual museum.
Click here to register and create a new Avatar to travel back in time and experience this virtual museum and island. The software application Firestorm which enables visitors view the musuem can be downloaded here. This step may be skipped if the viewer is already installed.
Once the viewer has been downloaded, search 'St Kilda Museum 1' and teleport to various locations for various historical information. From the landing point, a signpost is available where various sites can be clicked to teleport to including the reconstructed island, Hirta.
