The Rosemarkie Stone is believed to have been part of the flooring in Rosemarkie Church, There is a reference to the stone being lifted in 1733, off the floor, and at this time it was damaged.
In 1850 the stone was erected outside the church in-cased within a metal frame.
In 1980 Rosemarkie Stone was brought to Groam House Museum for safe keeping.
