Title A name given to the resource 22.jpg Description An account of the resource This oblique aerial photograph of Broadlands Farm taken during the 1970’s. Although the surrounding farmland began to be rented to other farmers as early as the late 1950’s, Hoagland Gates’ widow Margaret continued, with the help of her daughters and hired hands, to manage the core of the Broadlands Complex throughout the third quarter of the 20th-century. Margaret Gates died in 1981 and, in 1988, the farm and the adjacent lands were sold for development.
